Add EtherNet/IP to Your Valve or Valve Positioner
Adding an industrial protocol like EtherNet/IP to your Valve or Valve Positioner is not as daunting a task as you might think. The EtherNet/IP Adapter development kit from Real Time Automation was specifically developed to assist valve manufacturers to get quickly and easily EtherNet/IP enabled. You can have EtherNet/IP Adapter communications in days not weeks, months or years. The development kit includes everything you need to implement your EtherNet/IP networking solution; “no royalty,” single task source code, sample objects, an EtherNet/IP Client tool, a ready-to-run sample application, complete documentation and much more.

What Is Required Of Your Valve or Valve Positioner?
There is only one requirement to get your valve on EtherNet/IP. It must currently support standard, TCP/IP Ethernet or there must be space for an optional hardware PCB to add Ethernet connectivity..

Taking The First Step
You need EtherNet/IP but probably don’t know much about it and certainly don’t have a year or more to properly code it in house, deploy it and ring it out in 10 or 20 prototype systems. You make devices that do all kinds of wonderful things but you’re not an industrial networking expert nor should you be. That’s where we come in. Our only business is helping automation people just like you get network enabled. It is all we’ve been doing for more than 20 years.

What You’re Going To Get
Outta the box you’ll get not only the EtherNet/IP source code but a working Windows project that you can use to test it, the interface for many TCP/IP stacks, Modbus TCP Source Code, an extensive user manual and a PC Tool that you’ll use to send EtherNet/IP Messages to your device. Some folks have been able to take this tool and get some messaging working within a few hours!
